What Is the SPOT-MAS Blood Test?

SPOT-MAS (Screening via Plasma Tumour Markers and Signatures) was developed in Singapore and analyses circulating tumour DNA using advanced next-generation sequencing and artificial intelligence algorithms. It can detect early-stage cancer signals — including for cancers such as pancreatic, ovarian, and liver cancer that currently have no widely available standard screening method.

Approximately 78% of cancer deaths in Singapore involve cancers with no standard early-detection test. SPOT-MAS is designed to fill this gap, detecting cancer signals up to several years before symptoms typically appear.

"Patients caught at an early stage are 13 times more likely to survive five years. This is why early detection matters — not just academically, but clinically."

— Dr Dhivian, Angsana Medical

Cancers covered include:

Colorectal · Liver · Lung · Gastric · Breast · Cervical · Ovarian · Pancreatic · Thyroid · Nasopharyngeal — and their 75 specific subtypes.

This is a screening tool, not a diagnostic test

A positive result requires follow-up diagnostic investigation. Results are reviewed and interpreted by Dr Dhivian alongside your clinical history.

SPOT-MAS (Screening via Plasma Tumour Markers and Signatures) is a multi-cancer early detection blood test that analyses circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) using advanced DNA sequencing and artificial intelligence. It screens across 10 cancer groups encompassing 75 subtypes in a single blood draw.
SPOT-MAS demonstrates approximately 78% sensitivity, approximately 99.8% specificity, and approximately 84% accuracy in tumour localisation (identifying where in the body the cancer signal originates).
SPOT-MAS covers 10 cancer groups including colorectal, liver, lung, gastric, breast, cervical, ovarian, pancreatic, thyroid, and nasopharyngeal cancers — encompassing 75 specific subtypes.
Adults aged 40 and above, individuals with a family history of cancer, heavy smokers or significant alcohol use, those with chronic liver disease or high-risk genetic profiles, and anyone seeking comprehensive cancer screening beyond standard tests.
Both are ctDNA-based multi-cancer tests. SPOT-MAS covers 10 cancer groups (75 subtypes) with ~78% sensitivity. LucenceINSIGHT™ covers up to 50 cancer types with ~80% sensitivity. Your doctor will advise on which is most appropriate for your risk profile.
