Paediatric Health at Angsana Medical

Supporting your child's health from infancy through adolescence

Children present differently from adults — and need a doctor who understands that. At Angsana Medical, paediatric consultations are given the time they need. Dr Dhivian's training in the NUH Children's Emergency Department and paediatric wards means he knows how to assess children properly, communicate with them at their level, and give parents clear, practical guidance.

As a PaedsENGAGE certified clinic, we work in collaboration with NUH and KKH — providing you with the reassurance that if specialist care is needed, the pathway is clear and supported.

PaedsENGAGE Certified

$50 subsidy if your child requires a subsequent Children's Emergency referral.

We Hear This Every Week

If any of these sound familiar, you are in the right place.

My child has had a fever for two days and I don't know when to worry.

Fever in children is one of the most anxiety-inducing experiences for any parent. You want a doctor who can assess your child properly and give you a clear answer — not a vague 'monitor at home' without an examination.

My child keeps getting ear infections and I'm not sure it's being managed properly.

Recurrent ear infections need investigation, not just another course of antibiotics. A doctor who sees your child regularly will notice the pattern and help you address the underlying cause.

My teenager is struggling and I don't know how to help.

Stress, low mood, sleep issues, and anxiety in adolescents are real and common — and often missed because teenagers do not always raise them directly. A doctor who knows how to talk with young people, not just about them, makes a difference.

What Good Paediatric Care Looks Like

A consultation that reassures parents and puts children at ease.

We examine your child properly, explain what we found in plain language, and give you a clear plan — including exactly what to watch for and when to come back.

No rush. No guesswork. You leave knowing your child is in safe hands.

What Is Paediatric Care and When Should You See a GP vs a Specialist?

Most childhood illnesses and health concerns — from fever and infections to eczema, asthma, developmental questions, and adolescent issues — are appropriately and effectively managed at a GP clinic. A specialist paediatrician is not always needed, and often involves longer wait times and higher costs.

"As a PaedsENGAGE clinic, we are part of the NUH and KKH network. Parents can see us first, knowing that if specialist care is needed, the pathway is clear — and a $50 subsidy applies to the Children's Emergency referral."

— Dr Dhivian, Angsana Medical

If your child has a high fever that is not responding to medication, difficulty breathing, severe rash, or any condition you feel is serious — please call 995 or go to KKH or NUH Children's Emergency immediately.

8 Paediatric Health Services at Angsana Medical, Singapore

We begin every paediatric consultation by listening — to both parent and child — before examining and advising.

Fever, coughs, colds, and respiratory infections are among the most common reasons parents bring their children to see us. We assess the severity and cause of illness, perform in-clinic rapid testing where appropriate (COVID-19, Influenza A & B, RSV, Adenovirus), and prescribe appropriate treatment — including fever management guidance, fluid advice, and safety-netting for parents.

  • Fever · URTI / common cold · Influenza · COVID-19 · RSV
  • Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) · Tonsillitis · Bronchiolitis

Ear infections, conjunctivitis, and throat infections are very common in young children. We assess and treat these in-clinic, including ear syringing for ear wax blockages in older children. Recurrent ear infections are investigated for underlying causes and referred to ENT where needed.

  • Otitis media (middle ear infection) · Otitis externa
  • Conjunctivitis · Tonsillitis · Ear wax removal

Eczema is particularly common in Singaporean children. We provide structured eczema management including trigger identification, topical treatment protocols, and parent education on skin care routines. We also manage heat rash, urticaria (hives), fungal infections, molluscum contagiosum, impetigo, and other paediatric skin conditions.

  • Eczema (atopic dermatitis) · Heat rash · Urticaria
  • Impetigo · Molluscum contagiosum · Fungal skin infections

Gastroenteritis, food poisoning, constipation, and feeding difficulties are assessed and managed with clear guidance for parents on hydration, diet, and when to escalate. For infants and toddlers, feeding difficulties and food allergies are also assessed with referral to dietetics where needed.

  • Gastroenteritis · Food poisoning · Constipation
  • Feeding difficulties · Food allergy assessment

We administer the full National Childhood Immunisation Schedule (NCIS) and optional vaccines. Catch-up vaccination schedules are available for children who have missed doses. We also advise on travel vaccinations for children travelling internationally.

  • Full NCIS vaccination schedule · Catch-up vaccinations
  • Influenza · Hepatitis A · Varicella · Travel vaccines

We conduct developmental assessments, growth monitoring, and school health reviews including pre-enrolment checks and fitness-to-participate assessments for sports and CCAs. Concerns about developmental milestones, learning, behaviour, or attention are assessed with appropriate referral to developmental paediatricians or educational psychologists where indicated.

  • Developmental milestones · Growth monitoring · Nutrition assessment
  • School health checks · Sports & CCA fitness assessments · ADHD/learning referral

We provide adolescent-sensitive care for teens navigating puberty, menstrual health, acne, stress, anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, and identity. Consultations with adolescents are conducted with age-appropriate confidentiality, and parental involvement is discussed sensitively with the young person.

  • Acne · Puberty guidance · Menstrual health
  • Stress · Anxiety · Low mood · Sleep · Behavioural concerns

Childhood asthma is common and often under-recognised. We assess respiratory symptoms, confirm the diagnosis, initiate inhaler therapy with clear parent education on technique and usage, and provide a written asthma action plan. Acute asthma attacks are managed in-clinic and escalated appropriately where needed.
